Why are we surprised
that a news anchor would confabulate
misremember, or misrepresent
a “news” story?

Instead of one of the pillars of a democracy
that helps citizens make informed decisions
“news” has become a business product
sold to the public for profit/propaganda purposes
no longer serves the interests of “we the people”
but the narrow partisan interests of
political ideologues after profit and power
